Brown to Be Wild — American Brown Ale
ABV: 5.9% | IBU: 31 | Color: 17 SRM (deep amber-brown)
Born from the spirit of the American muscle car era, Brown to Be Wild is an American Brown Ale that refuses to play it safe. Built on a clean American 2-Row base with Brown Malt, Victory Malt, and Chocolate Malt for a rich, complex malt profile — think toasty, nutty, and smooth with notes of cocoa and dark fruit. Amarillo and Willamette hops add a bold citrus and earthy punch that flips this style on its head. This isn't your grandfather's brown ale. This one revs.
What’s in the Box
Grain Bill
- Pale Ale 2-Row — the malty backbone, 84% of the bill
- Brown Malt — toasty, biscuity depth
- Victory Malt — a nutty, biscuit-like complexity
- Chocolate Malt and Caramel 60L — a touch of roast and caramel sweetness
Hops
Magnum for bittering, with Amarillo and Willamette layered through the boil, hop stand, and knockout for citrus-and-earth complexity.
Yeast
SafAle US-05 (American Ale, dry)
Tasting Notes
Deep amber-brown with a toasty, nutty malt character, light caramel sweetness, and a hoppier finish than you’d expect from a brown ale.
Good For
Fans of malt-forward beers who still want some hop presence, and cooler-weather sipping.
Every Kit Includes
- A pre-milled, vacuum-sealed grain bill — no scale, no mill required
- Hops pre-weighed and bagged by addition, so you add what the recipe calls for, when it calls for it
- A reliable dry yeast strain — no starter, no smack pack, no temperature-sensitive liquid yeast
- Any specialty ingredients, such as lactose, lemon peel, whirlfloc, or yeast nutrient, pre-measured and bagged
- A full recipe instruction card with mash schedule, boil time, and water volumes
- Bottle caps, sized for your full batch — not something you have to source yourself
- Priming sugar, pre-measured for bottling day — ready to go when your beer is
A Premium Kit Without the Premium Price
A lot of the big-name kit sellers stop at grain, hops, and instructions — yeast, priming sugar, bottle caps, and even grain bags get sold as separate add-ons. MoreBeer, for example, states outright that its recipe kits “DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar.” Add those items up at most retailers and you're looking at another $10–$15 on top of the kit price before you can actually finish a batch.
Every Kettle & Keg kit already includes the dry yeast, the bottle caps, and the priming sugar. What you see is what it costs to go from box to bottle — no surprise add-ons at checkout.
